This is a Town NPC. A House may be required in order for it to appear.

The Sorcerer is an NPC that will spawn once the following conditions have been met:

If the Sorcerer is killed, he will only respawn if the above conditions are met again. He uses Emerald Staff to defend himself.

His quote about being trapped underground refers to how the Wizard NPC is found underground.
The quote about rabbits in his hat is a reference to the classic magic trick of pulling a rabbit out of a hat.
The name "Avalon" refers to the legendary island from King Arthur's story, "Avalon". It also refers to the pre-1.2 mod "Exxo Avalon".
The name “Harry” is a reference to the seven Harry Potter books by J. K. Rowling.
